Between 2004 and 2021, readers at the Arts & Faith discussion board voted on their choices for the Top 100 “Spiritually Significant” films. (The “Spiritually Significant” label was dropped for a time, making it simply the Top 100 films for readers of Arts & Faith. It has been added back to clarify the lists’ distinctive qualifies, even if readers might disagree as to what makes a film spiritually significant. Below are links to various iterations of the list from most recent (2021) to oldest.
In some years where no new Top 100 list was made, voters instead created a Top 25 list of films that focused on a particular theme. Those lists are also archived here, although write-ups have sometimes appeared at other sites as well.
The 2020 Top 100 Spiritually Significant Films List — This list was limited to one film per director.
The 2019 Top 25 Spiritually Significant Films on Growing Older — Aging, mortality, experience, are all themes.
